How Do I Vote?

Ballots were mailed out to all registered voters on Tuesday June 8, so check your mailbox and confirm you got yours! Here are three ways to vote and have your voice heard this election:

A ballot drop box in Colorado
  1. BALLOT DROP BOX.  Make sure your vote is counted by dropping off your completed ballot at a drop box by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30. Drop boxes are open 24/7 through 7 p.m. on Election Day. Find a location near you
  2. MAIL. Another option to return your ballot is by mailing it back to your county clerk. If you choose this option, don’t forget to add stamps (we always recommend two, just in case) and put it in the mail by Monday, June 22, to ensure it arrives at the County Clerk’s Office by Election Day.
  3. IN PERSON. If you didn’t receive your ballot in the mail, need a new ballot, or need to register to vote, you can vote in person at a Voter Service Center in your county. Find a location near you! If you’re going to vote in person, remember to bring an accepted form of ID, which you can find here.

If you’re dropping your ballot off or mailing it in, double-check the instructions on your ballot. And don’t forget to sign the envelope!

What’s on the ballot?

The ballot you receive is based on the political party you’re registered with:

  • Democratic Party: voters will receive a ballot with all Democratic candidates running in federal and statewide races.
  • Republican Party: voters will receive a ballot with all Republican candidates running in federal and statewide races.
  • Unaffiliated: voters will receive two ballots – a Republican and a Democratic ballot. You can only fill out and vote on one ballot!

You’ll be voting for your choice of candidate in federal races such as your U.S. Senate and Congressperson, statewide races such as Governor, Secretary of State, and Attorney General, and additional races specific to the district you live in.
