Job Description
Title: Northern Colorado Organizer
Location: Fort Collins, CO
Reports To: Program Director
Type: Full Time, Temporary

New Era Colorado Foundation is an innovative vehicle for hands-on democracy. We engage, educate, and train a new generation of active citizens and young leaders in Colorado. We are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic individual to manage our voter registration, voter engagement, volunteer recruitment, and other civic engagement programs in the Fort Collins and Greeley area. We’re looking for the position to start ASAP.

Job Activities

  • Work closely with the Program Director to plan and execute a volunteer-driven voter registration drive in Northern Colorado that targets young voters
  • Maintain a regular presence at CSU, UNC, and other college campuses, community events, festivals, and concerts
  • Play a role in planning and executing New Era’s 2012 civic engagement programs
  • Recruit & effectively manage volunteers to plug into New Era campaigns and efforts
  • Coordinate and assist with New Era Colorado events
  • Assist with high school civic engagement outreach in Fort Collins and Greeley 

Knowledge/Skills

  • Experience with volunteer recruitment and management preferred
  • Event coordination & planning experience preferred
  • Proven and highly effective organizational and written/oral communication skills
  • Strong track record of setting and meeting goals
  • A high energy and contagiously fun(ny) personality
  • A self-starter that shows strong initiative
  • Strong affinity for networking and building strategic relationships
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
  • Some familiarity with Colorado political landscape and culture preferred
  • Experience with and ability to work within diverse and underrepresented communities
  • Some experience working with young voters, voter registration, or campaigns preferred
  • Commitment to the organizational mission in order to effectively promote and advance the goals of New Era Colorado Foundation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to work non-traditional work hours
